Default Favorite Spice?

Been using Cajun spices quite a bit lately in a lot of meals. What do you guys use the most?

I'm personally a fan of anything and everything spicy!

I love spicy stuff, but I'm 100% Sicilian, so I love my Italian spices too

Lowry's Seasoning Salt. Use it almost to the exclusion of regular salt. It still makes things just as salty, but adds more flavor to it rather than just salt. Best use is on hamburgers while you're cooking them. Incredible.

freaking SECOND time this week I've seen that freaking photo... (first was in a web comic where the entire cast cross-dressed for halloween... damn archive trawl...)

As far as spices, it depends on what for. Rosemary and black pepper for chicken, ginger and wasabi for sushi (yeah yeah...), list goes on.

The one "go-to" it seems, and you'll laugh, is alcohol of some kind.

Marinated the chicken for the cacciatore with 192 proof vodka, minced onion, minced garlic, pepper, lemon juice, thyme, rosemary, and a little parsley.

Swedish meatballs, it's triple-sec and maple syrup with some vodka.

Fish, white wine, butter, and lemon juice.

Eh, I'll stop there...

Lol. Nice, but rosemary and alcohol aren't spices My favorite has got to be sazon. That stuff goes with everything. Garlic, paprika, onion, cumin and salt are the bulk of it, and it's fantastic!

True, the alcohol mainly helps extract the flavors and meld them.
