That's because American's aren't exposed to high end food at a young age. They think or Hersey's or Nestle when they think of chocolate. I think of El Rey, Toblerone, Ghirardelli, etc... Most eat crap until they leave home. It's part of the reason America is so obese. Look at the French... their food is loaded with fat and butter, but they are much skinnier that we are. Why? Because they eat real butter, not hydrogenated butter-like substances. They eat high quality fats and real sugar, not high-fructose corn syrup. I was exposed to good food young. Even as a kid, I always preferred a good dark chocolate. I like the 75 to 80% stuff. I can't stand milk chocolate. I liked broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, escargot, fish, lobster, stinky cheeses and all kinds of other stuff most kids thought were gross.

Word, I'm the same way. Probably part of the reason I've got a 118 Cholesterol.

I'd be skinny if I could just run again....

Damn, now I want some dark chocolate.

My resting heart rate is 48-50 bpm. I can get it up to about 150 if I'm really pushing. My recovery time back to rest is about 45seconds. I've got a bicycle rider's heart because I didn't own a car until I was 22 (except for about 6 months between when I graduated and when I moved to Vegas). When I sleep, it drops into the mid-30's. I'd be skinny if I wasn't genetically predisposed to having a "beer gut".

I got a bar of Theo brand "fair trade" 84% chocolate today.
