i get phone call at 11pm last night



i sent it to vm, because sleeping



another phone call



again vm



i wake up, have 2 voicemails and 4 text messages from in law



netflix is down!! OMG!! FIX IT FAITH!



i ask if its down on the website or just the wii, he said just wii



said "the power went out and now it doesnt work!!!"



so i tell him ill help him later, got hw i gotta finish today, so about 20 minutes later i get this message



and its a quote



"ok so it says input MAC address, what do i put in there if i have a PC and not a MAC?"



i reply with, you are a little over your head right now, ill help you later once im done, if you absolutely need help this instant, call tech support for either wii or your cable, or call a service like geek squad



i just got this reply back "i did call geek squad, you worked there didnt you?"

last time i was there i ran a malwarebytes scan and followed up with a hijack this scan



i found a trojan, found out it was obtained by a stupid 3rd installed toolbar bullshit thingy for facebook, i showed the EXACT path of who downloaded it and showed them why it was bad to download those



inlaw says "that's definitely not a virus because you gotta pay money to get rid of viruses, last time we got a virus, a pop up came up and said we had to buy and download this antivirus in order to get rid of it. Leave that toolbar alone I use it all the time"



dont get me wrong, im not the absolute greatest tech saavy person on earth but i can fix most issues i ever have with my computer myself although admittedly I am NO WHERE NEAR the level of say DTN, but i think i should send them a email saying im a nigerian prince and they won the lottery
