I'm kinda tired of the tib.
Got some problems right now and it's not the first time.

My rear left brake cilinder is bad.
Also need new brake pads all around because they are too thin.
My manifold is cracked so I either need to get a new one, or try to weld this one.
(I think I go for the first option tongue.gif )
New timing belt + all the other belts b/c they are kinda worn...

Maybe its not that much, but I've already had some things before:
Had 2 oil leaks from my transmission,
got new bearings in my transmission + new fork because they where fuxored,
electrical antenna didn't stop when it was supposed to,
Had a lot of water troubles because some rubber cap was
missing between my fender and my interior (carpets where floating etc),
Airconditiong had some leaking as well,
Right front wheel got bend by the previous owner (new wheels),
Some @$$hole screwed up my rear spoiler, it looks like it got sandpapered,
plus I got keyed on the side.

It's just too much for 1,5years i've got it.
When I get something fixed and think there isn't much left to get busted
something else still seems to manage to get screwed...

I dunno, maybe it's time to get something else.
I'm writing this to ask you guys if you got the same things as me, or am I a unique case here?

It's a car dude, it happens. Buy new and you'll likely have fewer problems, but other then that it's luck of the draw.

Yeah, Tiburons are pretty low maintenence vehicles. I think your tib just has bad luck. Good luck.

Yeah, I still love the car, don't get me wrong.
It's a love/hate thing I got with it, lol.

I still think I got screwed on it when i bought it, because the previous owner didn't really took good care of it.
But I guess it's my own fault for buying it then...

It's just that I'm doubting between getting everything done or buy something else.
Since the car is getting 8 years and all.
But I only got 83k km's on it.
Lol, I'm just so full of doubt with it tongue.gif .

It definitely sounds like the previous owner didn't maintain it all that well. A lot of the things you mention are maintenance items and need to be done on any car and since the car is about 8 years old there will always be things it needs.

I don't think I've had as many issues as you have. I have a 2000 but it has 184,000 km on it. I bought it new and have looked after it pretty well and in return it has been good to me but I know that given it's age and mileage that there will be things that come up from time to time.

Yeah, I guess with it's age you'll always have trouble with it.
I've had a 1994 ford escort (euro) before this one and never had troubles with it not even when it was 10 yrs old smile.gif .

It's just that everytime I've got some money set aside for some nice things for the car something comes up that I have to fix first.
I think i will be saving for a new manifold though, since it's the original one that cracked and is gonna be welded.

I do have to get everything fixed at this point because it doesn't get through the annual check-up we've got over here, and if it doesn't pass, I'm not allowed to drive it on the road 02.gif .

Unfortunately that's what you run into with a Hyundai that's used, quite often. Folks see Hyundai, know there's a 100K mile warranty, and drive the shit out of it.

Some of the things listed in your gripe are things that you should be checking regularly like your brake pads, timing belts and missing parts are things that can be replaced or fixed. My 97 Tib has hit 206,000km's and is now 10 years old, I always do my checks (oil, coolant, belts, brakes and tyres), have my car serviced and looked over by a mechanic I trust every 5,000km's. Since buying the car 18months ago, the only problem I have had was a faulty O2 sensor.

Maybe your Tib just needs some TLC. Although I do think that you have gotten a bad expirence with this Tib that you have, fix the things that are wrong with it, take a visit to the wreckers. Some of your problems can be fixed by cheap 2nd hand replacements.

Well, I'm getting everything fixed today (being worked on as we speak by a mechanic).
So I guess everything will turn out allright.

And yes I do get the car serviced regularly so that's maybe why I'm kinda surprised by all this.
I've switched to another garage though, because I think the prev. one didn't do the job too well now that I've got all of this in a short period after they checked it.

I think I'm just a bit pissed off at myself for not seeing these things, maybe that's my gripe, I dunno.

Anyway, I've made up my mind and get everything done that is needed, and I'm going to get everything I want to put on it (new manifold/exhaust etc).
I'll even try to change some stuff before they break, so it won't come as a surprise (to my wallet tongue.gif ),

^ thats probobly the right thing to do. I felt the same way with my neon (part of the reason i got my tib). I ended up just fixing everything that was supposed to go bad at 125k, and for the last year the only problem i had was my own fault. Im gonna have to do a 50k tune up/parts replacement on my tib probobly next weekend, hopefully to stave off the same problems i had with my neon lol.
Only real suggestion i got is just keep an eye on your tib, check fluids, engine sounds etc. Now that you got everything working properly. Don't always trust your mechneck to do it, some are realy honest and good, some arnt. It pays to know what your car sounds, looks, feels like running good, and then checking it regularly to see if anything changes.
