I think there are some PC programs. You connect a camera and it will record and alarm only if there will be a movement. Try this.

faith has a good idea, however it'll be a lot of time, battery, film before you catch these crooks. you should leave something on your hood to see if anyone will touch it like a blank cd. if they do and throw it down you'll have fingerprints.

always keep a disposable camera near your car. if you ever catch them, you don't even have to confront them just run up to them and snap a photo. simple as that.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (fonseca @ Jan 3 2006, 10:46 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Probably neighborhood kids. Some ass keeps stealing my chrome valve stem caps from my driveway, which my alarm doesn't notice of course. I just lost another two last week. Why the hell would someone steal those?</div>
Over the summer, some asshole kids were going to every car over the course of a flew blocks in my neighborhood stealing the caps off of tires. I don't know what the point was, but it got annoying.

Anywho, I got a Viper alarm system. It was retailed at $600 (for the alarm plus parts), but since I worked at Best Buy (where I bought it and got it installed), my employee discount brought it down to about $240. My mom got the same alarm in her camaro. Pretty much, if anyone moves my wheels, tries to open the hood, trunk, windows, doors, etc... or so much as falls into my car (like nudges it or whatever), my alarm goes off. My keychain will go off too. It does a cute little jingle to let me know the difference of what's going on. One jingle lets me know someone has hit or attempted to break into my car, and another lets me know my car has been accessed. However, my car will NOT start unless my key is in it. My alarm also makes sure my key is in the ignition before the car goes anywhere. If the car is hotwired, as soon as the person hits the break, the car shuts off. I'm sure people could figure out how to disarm the alarm before starting it, but my keychain would still go off before they got that far.

Asianwolf = crap. If you have the know-how to install it yourself, that's one thing. But if you pay a place to install it, be prepared to pay more than the original install cost to later get it removed.

Definitely try to get them on tape/recorded if you can. I understand how irritating that is. A few years ago I bought the newest model Python alarm w/ pager b/c kids kept on f'ing w/ my car. It's great! The pager goes off to let you know if it's a warn or the actual alarm, has ignition kill, very similar to Toxic's alarm from Viper. I got the entire thing w/ install for $550. I say if you're going to get an alarm, go all the way and get a good one w/ a pager. Good luck!

fonsica: can't you just pull wires and reconnect oem? I've removed a couple, not too advanced, but it dosn't seem that hard. What are you referring to?
