Hmm when i bought my 2001 Tiburon last December i opted to get an extended warranty on it for like an additional 12 dollars extra a month on my payment. I was thinking that it would give me a lot of extra security knowing i would only have to pay a deductible charge when getting any problem fixed. Well this summer i started having a minor problem with the 3rd gear synchro. No big deal except when shifting from 2nd to 3rd above 5000 rpm, just a little bit of grind. But knowing its under warranty i took it in to get it replaced and while i was their they told me i could buy a new clutch and they would install for free. So i did i bought an Act organic disk clutch kit, and dropped the car off July 13 or so. And here it is August 18th and still no car. I got it back July 28th for one week before having to take it back because they did not install it right the first time. The car made a constant clicking sound as it rolled down the road. So after i took it back in for the second time WITH an appointment, they didnt start working on it until the next week, which would have been this past monday. And i called them today to see if they were making progress. Well they told me that one of the parts they needed to replace is on back order and wont be in until the 28th. And me being a college student soon, cant have this wait. I actually leave town next friday to stay 140 miles away from home and I have a rental from them. So its making me really angry that they have taken so long to do the job and do it right. They have been really helpful and understanding about getting it done its just taking forever. They gave me a free rental and the total charge on the work to the car is 150 dollars.

Ha ha its a pretty sweet rental too i thought they would give me a piece of shit. They gave me a 2005 Elantra and i kind of like it... IF and on IF i was in the market for a 4 door i might considering buying one. But it gets great gas mileage. And its better than driving my dads Silverado that gets like 13 MPG.

funny, i actually had an extended warranty and i was paying 30 bucks a month, i figured itd be a saftey net in case it broke down after the used warranty ran out.
well i started messing with my car and eventually turboed my car and since nothing is under warranty anymore i went and cancelled my warranty, saved me a grand.
Good that it actually paid off for you though.
Hey u got a 'Lantra and your not putting miles on your tib so its not all bad.
Some shops would try an make you pay for all the extra labor time...

Grrr.......Approaching 2 months and my dealership f***ing broke the input shaft of which there are zero replacements in the united states because i checked 2 parts databases and found nothing. Also im growing really really impatient with them. How do you break the input shaft....They should have a replacement in by this saturday is what they are telling me but this is f*ing retarded. I hate my life.....

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!! I called yet again today to find out that they got the replacement input shaft straight from Korea in early. But they told me that while putting it back together the brand new input shaft is f***ed up worse than the one that was in it. I mean seriously how am i supposed to get my car back with this kind of luck. After some choice words with the guy who works at the ticket desk in the service department, and i got patched through to the official shop supervisor and explained the whole situation, and asked him if used junkyard parts could be a possible solution. Because i made it very clear that i wanted the car done!!!!!!!!! I dont want them to fVck around with it any longer. Im tired of it sitting in a shop full of dumbasses waiting for parts that dont fit.....ugh... I feel better now.

They are givin you the runaround.
You should look up the part numbers yourself and see where they are at. If you find there are quite a few, it's time to sue!

The input shaft is driven off the crankshaft in the manual transmission and handles all the power. Which im really scratching my head how they messed the stock one up, but they managed to do it. And ive checked 2 other Hyundai dealerships and had them look through the hyundai database looking for it and both of them came up not finding a single new one in the United States. Also the Hyundai plant in Korea has to remanufacture them because they dont have any in stock. Which is why i think the one that my dealer didnt fit right. Could be a problem with their cnc job or something. Anyway im just like beyond ticked off about the whole situation. They should give me a new tiburon.
