Yeah I'd definitely paint them.. problem is I don't have spares and it would take alot of time, that I dont have..

I was gonna take them off and drop them off for powdercoating and use the wifey's malibu for a week, but if I have to do them myself it would take weekS.

I get wednesdays and saturdays off.. even if I spent full time on them (and I would have to get the tires removed and then replaced) it would take about 6 days to do them properly, as I say then I would be running into weeks.

The rims I have are not rice, theyre actually quite dated but I like that... There's something I like about the tiburon, something that says '70's ferrari dino' maybe it's the swooping front and sexy lines? I have always loved those kind of Ferrari (being that I am in my 30's)..

They're a clone of the TSW europe Hockenheim 'R' which are no longer in production...

TBH I have been thinking about it, and I might just get them powdercoated.. I mean sure, $340 all in is alot of money but I don't really want to change the style and shape of the rims I have because I like them smile.gif

Yeh, i painted mine, it's not difficult, but you do need to take your time and be patient, its worth it, just make sure you prep' em right and you'll get a good finall finish.

By the way, nice job rd 1 tib.

Actually there are (I just got a callback from a guy) a few different kinds of powdercoating..

Some use glass (high heat, cant do that on a alloy rim) and some use acryllic fibre.

Apparently the acryllic goes on like plastic.. and after 5 years would lose 20% of it's sheen and gloss..

However, you can buff and polish them, which would return the powdercoat to it's original state.

I want my rims black, I have made my mind up on that smile.gif so I might see about getting 4 steely's with tires on to grant me the time and freedom to take mine off and paint them.. failing that I might just say f*** it and get them done.. I know that they don't make my rims anymore, and they only did them in alloy, so it would be totally unique to moi.. something I am all about smile.gif

yeah agreed, very nice RD1TIB, I like bronze smile.gif
