[soapbox]
Not many of you guys know, unless you've run one, how difficult a Group Buy can be to setup and manage. We had that one guy, DJNevamind, did the first pillar GB here. He wanted to start a parts busniess but after that one GB he gave up and doesn't come around anymore.

They are difficult to put together, and for the seller, they make LESS money off of the product. Mostly, we do it to get the name of something out there because it'll increase sales in the long run. I'm not perfect, but I do try to help out across the Net to keep us Crooked H bastards together in a cohesive family. I've now run 4 Group Buys and they have all gone well and everyone has been pretty happy.

My point?

Today I get this PM, I won't say from who but I will quote it directly...

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>$10 is not a great deal to save if I'm going to have to wait a month or maybe 2 before I get the part. After the price and the shipping its only $125. I could buy it for $135 and have it installed before you get the shipment and send it to respected customers. Now if I'm going to save $30 that would be a different story. When I asked for the group buy it was hoping I get a better deal, like everyone did on the headers and rotors.</div>

As it was said in the past when SPIKE tried to set up this GB, there is a VERY narrow profit on this item and therefore we couldn't drop the price much. The price drop was thought to be insignificant enough earlier that no one would want to buy. As of right now I have 11 pre pays for this GB. 11 in what, 3 days?!?!? That's fantastic! RSide was on the phone with David yesterday when I told him this and they choked on their coffee, they have to do another PRODUCTION RUN BECAUSE OF THIS GROUP BUY.

Now that's cause and effect, supply and demand.

I know this makes no sence, but that PM just pissed me off. I don't have to do any of this, but I like to because of ya'll and David.

In the future, if you want a group buy and we set one up, if it's too expensive still, then keep your yap shut and do better yourself.

On another note...

The SS Brake Line GB has been given the go ahead, after this Short Shifter one is done, it'll be next. Price should definately be under 150.[/soapbox]

as for the brake lines, can i ask if you wait a few weeks after the end of this one? i would wanna get in on it, but i'm drowning in debt and need to focus on other things.

if they don't want the $10 discount, go buy it elsewhere. They aren't forced to be involved in the group buys, and have to understand that shipping is always hard to deal with.

I've tried a few group buys in the past, and man, they're a PITA... especially when trying to sell neons, and they break on every other shipment :-/

group buys are a royal pita guys...

im doing my first one and so far everything has gone good, and im thankful for that. my only problem is the amount of people that ask questions that are answered in the first post, but its not a big deal. im just praying everything goes as planned.

the amount of work though(especially when hosting it at three different sites), combined with schoolwork, and jobs is pretty crazy. whoever that was should right an apology, cause it takes a lot more than some may think to do one.

Not to mention, like I told that person, group buys may not always give a HUGE discount, but it's helping EVERYONE out.

Teamwork...

Default Idea for T-Shirt [Front only]

I think group buys are great. Price reduction maybe immaterial but the fact that a reliable person has initiated it, we cant go wrong with the product. We can also share valuable information on installing and using the product.

That guy simply doesnt understand the value of camaraderie.

Group buys are an awesome way to help us out as well as the company you are buying them from. Yeah you may not save much all the time, but there are good deals to be had. Keep them up guys!
