Well, saturday should have been a great day for me. It was my last day working for a sh1tty company, and i had no hangover after a nice night of boozin. Things couldn't have gotten worse....

So i'm driving on the highway en route to work. Stupid me, i decided i wanted something in the back seat. Well... have you ever taken your eyes off the road and end up drifting into another lane? It happens to a lot of people. Generally though, there's no car in the other lane. (if the roadways aren't busy). Well, thats what i did. However, there was a Caravan that wanted to get in my way... completely sideswiped her.

There's more damage to my car than hers, but she insisted on me calling a Statey instead of just exchanging our information ourselves. Since cops suck, I was also ticketed for $250. $150 for "impaired operation" and $100 for "marked lane" infraction.

this has definately come at like the worst time possible. So, be on the look out for a for-sale thread... can't wait to pay the deductibles... 02.gif

I think i may need a new door. there's a wrinkle that i highly doubt can be fixed, and it also shuts like sh1t now. gotta slam it pretty good, and i can feel that its shutting poorly. My rear fender's got a nice scratch all the way down it, and is also dented pretty good. the front fender has minor paint damage. Luckily we have foldable mirrors. that would have broken also....

Well if you put yourself in her shoes and a Caravan soccer mom decided to reach back in her backseat to slap her kid and drifted in your lane and sideswiped you, you would've called the cops even if the damage was more on her Caravan then on the Tib.

Yeah, that door got owned. It might be fixable, but it would probably be cheaper to get a new door and get them to repaint the entire thing. And you wouldln't have a door completely made out of bondo.

So true. Not to turn it into a rant about women drivers, but women + cell phones don't mix. I was coming out of school one day, girl puts on her left blinker in the left turn lane. I pull out into the right lane turning right. She goes into the right turn lane with her left blinker on and forces my CORVETTE up onto a curve. Its got 5K worth of paint, so I figured my tire could take the hit hopefully. She proceeds to make the turn, right now I'm pissed, I hit the pedal to catch up to this chick who ran me off the road. I pull up beside her and she's talking on her cell phone, never even sees me, even though my tire spun when it hit the curve and she should've looked to the right when she was turning. She was lucky my tire and alignment were O.K. Gah...

I think the reason is higher for guys is that guys total more cars, but women get in more fender benders for 300 dollars or so. That and they don't drive little cars that can't take hits, most drive SUVs or sedans and then don't bother to fix the little scratches because they don't care.

Let us know how the estimates go and if your going to sell anything. Hopefully the insurance company doesn't own you on bumping it up and on the deductibles.
