thanks for the advise guys but...
i cant test the magnet against my stub because i lost my stub.. i know how a lock works, i know how to pick a lock too, learned it from howstuffworks also about a year ago (great site)..the superglue should work because it is a VERY tiny amount on the tip of the stub. not enough glue to mess up the lock.. if i try unsucessfully to get it out i will eventually get it fixed. hopefully i can find my keys and get my piece out and everything will be ok...prolly not tho, luck isnt with me lately

I would buy one of those mini screwdriver sets, the size for screws on watches, and modify the end of one of the flathead ones. Maybe bend it just slightly, or dremel something like a fishhook shape, so that when inserted and turned slightly, it could grab the section of key.

I actually had to get a key out like this before... someone I knew broke the key in the ignition. I straightened a fish hook and used the barbed end to grab onto the key. Worked like a champ.

kinda, i am in the process of buying a new-key from TC to relplace the stub i lost. then over spring break im going to see if i can get it out; then im going to order a new one from the dealer for "cheap"
ill update this again when i actually SOLVE the problem
