WHAT HAPPENED during the install...
1) how did i get money for turbo. Grandma's granduation gift gave me 3grand i used some work money on top of that.
2) when i was installing i didnt have a lot of extra mony as i had quit my job. this added to pressure
3)it is true my car was down for 4 weeks because i was learning A LOT of stuff.
4) The install was a lot of frustration from the beginning becuase i was not expericed with the engine. the plan was to bolt it up and have a friend tune it and double check stuff.
5) It is true it took a couple of months for tim to ship my stuff, but i eventually got it...
6) by the time i got the kit and with the entire 4 weeks of down time. school was coming up fast and i NEEDED my car by then.
7) i had finally ran out of money for the install. had nothing left to help get it finished
8) we finally got the dp bolted up and it hits the cb boot. i called tim he said he would fix and ship back.
9) didnt have time for that..... so i decided to just take off the turbo and make the call to sell it or install in the winter later on.
10) got my car running again for school and was very happy...i dont have anything against the expericence because it taught me a lot of harsh lessons and i learn a lot about the parts in my car.
11) also, a lot of my friends said they would help install and then when i bought it they became "busy". a couple helped and it took all the frustration away, but for the most part it was just ME by myself at a friends garage trying to figure out everything and get it on. Doing it by urself sucks a lot. especially when u have to get across town to the garage... im never working on my car at other persons house for a long period of time. lol. ( i think that was a major issue for the frustration)
12) just to double state it.... i dont hate tim. we still talk every once and a while. but i wouldnt buy a kit from him anymore. when i payed for the kit it was b4 all the bad shit came out. so i had no idea they had a history of bad fitment and such. But i dont hold grudges so we're still cool.
13) also it took 4 weeks because of 4-h camp and a couple other things such as a trip to NYC with my mom and sister.

REASONS why i decided to sell the turbo.
1) I didnt have time to install with school, im a freshmen in college.
2) I have a hearing disability and it was highly recommended that since i type so well i consider getting a laptop and type up notes during class. this would allow me to save time writing and allow me to consentration on listening. so i looked into a laptop and how to pay for one. and i realized i had a turbo worth the amount of a laptop sitting around. and decided hey..... i dont have money for fix it. i could use the money for laptop for school.
3) my mom had started to complain about it being in the house. had to come up with a way to stach it or something.
4) No job.....


NOW WHY AM I LOOKING AT TURBO AGAIN?
1) ive looked into n/a and getting stuff over a period of say a year... and would still be happy with it think.
2) but while i was looking around for money i found out that i could save the money and go turbo in janurary or so and we all know turbo gives better results smile.gif
3) i got a new job repairing computers. only had it about a month but i love it and it pays pretty well for a freshmen student working 20 hrs a week.
4) i found out Viper 966 is in Buffalo and would install and dyno my turbo for a good price
5) a friend has told me a lot of ways to save money while getting parts. he just turboed his car himself for about 1600 dollars. but didnt need a piggyback or anything 02.gif. just had it flashed.
6) i have about 1500 dollars in scholarship overflow money coming to me in janurary. first time it went to fixing the car as someone backed into it and insurance wouldnt cover it. 02.gif cost me a 1000.
7) I have learned my lesson and am in the process of preping the car for turbo. such as a clutch, air ram and bbtb. after that when i get the money and have a good amount of excess ill drive up to buffalo and have viper fabercate me all the piping such as dp, dump pipe, and i/c and powercoat them. he is also going to dyno and install my stuff.
8) ive also finally gotten a copy of maximum boost(should have bought it a long time ago) from viper also, should have it soon smile.gif and will read it from front to back.

Ok. as some of you know. I run www.tibsunited.com . its a Tiburon forum i started up that is aiming to bring the generations together onto one board.

1) why was the board made? i made the forum because i would like to see a only tiburons(or tib engines) have a forum aviable where they can talk.
2)why do i have tim there? he isnt a dick to me and i still talk to him all the time. i just wont buy parts from him again b/c of the ship time and some stuff having issues fixing. (even though he was going to fix)
3)why are the forums set up like they are? they are setup so that people know what generation they are talking about, but at the same time merge the two together as much as possible. this leaves just the engine, and suspension different. we still have the tech and performance are where people post if it has to do with general cars. such as ECUs and stuff. I have also looked at other car specific sites and compared layouts and combined them into something that would allow the site to do different generations better.
4)why are the mods like they are? cuz something is messed up and i cant add more.... im working of fixing it and have asked java about what might have happened.
5) you say that they are split for a reason. i have yet to see any reason. We have a decent about of GK active members and nothing has happened that is bad.
5)the site gives me something to do during my spare time. and i like running it. it has grown pretty well since we started considering i dont really advertise it. just told the people i know about about. and didnt put any links to it on the net really.
6) on a side note. tim does not do any of the admin stuff really. its all me. he just provided the webspace on hes server since he had a LOT to spare. the plan has always been to see if it would work out well. then move it do a new seperate server.

on a side note i have been given some really good deals on a td05h-g16 turbo and manifold. along with 2 sparco seats(black). i may be getting these with a paycheck and some of my bday money that will becoming up.

after that ill save for a VHR Clutch Kit and have it installed
then ill get my guages
and then save for all my turbo parts.
double check the list. and reconfirm i have everything POSSIBLY needed. and purchase them all at once. ill then go get it installed and such.



the guys that are angry at me, such as redz. dont get mad and yell or flame. just post up asking what you think is silly and ill explain it better, or try to. i may have left something out. this has no other purpose but to lay out the facts so u guys can understand what happened and why i run tibsunited. im not trying to start shit with this post, im posting it because i want to clearify what seems to be false info.

theres no owned about it. this is a straight out facts thing.

#1 so what if tim was getting slammed here. i still like running my site and it gives me something to do. like i said i probably wouldnt ever get tims parts again, but still doesnt make him a bad person. just a bad business runner.... and i never left. lol i still use both.

#2 and did u notice that we were both waiting on kits while it was happening this goes towards number 4 where if u had 4 grand in parts waiting to come and everything was paid that ud want to believe they are good.

#3, ummmm wtf i copy? um no. i have no idea if the ranking system is the same as rdtib, as i was doing it i remembered seeing somewhere that they used car parts so i came up with something that involved the tibs car parts and the common upgrade path had no references other than to use parts. hell i still dont know what the ranking system here is never looked at it. if it was by chance the same, sry bout that and ill come up with something else. how the hell did i copy the style...ur board is green, mine is grey .....wtf makes no sense. the layout is like any car forum if u ask me. u got performance, looks and general. i asked u for help when switching from phpbb to ipb as i was new to the software, i never begged( EVER ). not to mention my site was running 2.1 like weeks before here. and has different mods. u guys have rdmart, arcade, flashchat, faq and calendar. i have a different member map, shoutbox, and couple other smaller mods. we dont let ppl under 20 posts get in on gbs. they have to show commitment to the forum b4 being allowed to get its advantages. theres a lot of differences. ur garage is there for mods and dynos. mine is there for people to show their car pics. ur gallery is more for meets. mine is planned to host all the diy pics. im sry if u dont see them, but most forums will look similar, its just who its targeted for that is usually different. we have different ways of handling stuff. so no it is not a copy of ur site. and i dont want it to be a copy. just becuz they are the same software does not mean they are the same. btw i was encouraged to use ipb by joshuwa NOT by this site.

im done with this i dont care any more i just wanted to put it out there what happened during install. i was dumb. and forgot some parts, didnt have a job so i ran out of money to get parts. then took it off for school. then got a laptop and paid for it via turbo. i dont care if u dont like my site. it isnt a copy. its another car forum on the same software. which means itll have similar mods, but not all and they will be setup different ways.

but once again redz u cant just simply ask whats up. and u flame people even when they are giving information that just lays out the facts that are true. hope you feel happy inside. so only like 1 of those points is true. when i made tibsunited, but it has nothing to do with why it was made.

What's the problem anyhow? Just the OT post Redz made in your topic? This just seems like useless bickering to me. 00Tibby, you know the reasons for all your actions. Redz, I doubt anything 00Tibby says is going to change your mind about him, you've proven to be pretty "steadfast" on your viewpoints. So where's the beef? I don't see how any of this gets anyone anywhere.

 

for $275, i think the exhaust was well overpriced. maybe if he did us a favor and had a huge starting discount for us and sold exhausts for like $150 max that would have been better. i could have gone to meineke and have them make me a dual exhaust with ebay mufflers and it would have cost less and been bad arse.

i also think that porn thing wasn't nice.

i also think that tim should take a few college business courses to help evaluate what went wrong. i like the guy, he was a lot of help and knew what was right. his welds were really fantastic. but it was just, plainly, not worth it. the ONLY reason 00tibby didn't have problems financially and physically getting his exhaust on, my friends, is because he sold tim's exhaust and bought one off of ebay. no complaints no regrets. the easiest way to go about an exhaust is motoria plain and simple. if you want you can chage the shit around at an exhaust shop, but it would cost much less than having them weld shit on and then you having to ceramic coat mild steel. overall, with the wait, stress, and money, his business wasn't helping us that much. i don't think he knows the tiburon crew well enough to stand ground. we're all trying to save money here.

 

The Tim debate has gone on long enough. Those who don't like him will continue not to like him. Those who are friends with him have no reason not to be friends with him.

In my opinion, this thread has been read by the intended audiences and the message that was attempted to be communicated has done so. Rebuttled has occurred, and unless this is stopped now, it could go on for 20 pages and still not be finished. To avoid any internet ownage or Hyundai-forum hating, I'm locking this thread.

TibsUnited was formed to help bring more Tiburons and more owners together. Let's help the community and not divide it. We don't need any forum bashing or hating going on, and I feel leaving this thread open may do so in the end.

We're all here for the community. Let's all try to do our part to keep it strong and growing in a positive direction.
