Currently on Facebook I see people promoting a "gas strike" today.



To me, it's absolutely asinine. A gas strike on a Friday is people just buying gas on thursday or Saturday. Like there's going to be any sort of impact. :unsure:



Your thoughts?

 

Economically it doesn't work. That is enough detail for me.

 

It only works if people don't CONSUME gas, and even then it doesn't really "work." Whether or not they pay for it is just timing that will even out over 2-3 days. They'll either buy it the day before or the day after.



It's all speculation in the stock market that determines oil prices, currently ambiguous speculation of the economic impact of the political uncertainty in Libya. I wish it was objective rather than subjective, THEN maybe we could control it with "consumption" strikes or increased fuel efficiency.



And turning everything into a Hybrid doesn't help either. If we start consuming less fuel because we're using more fuel efficient vehicles, middle eastern countries will start pumping/refining/releasing less fuel to keep the supply in line with demand. They know how to control their money.

people are so stupid.. just like the other day there was a HUGE rumor about quaker oats cancelling capn crunch.. all stemmed from some lady not seeing it on their site, and fox turning it into 'capn crunch is discontinued' then someone put up a site to SAVE CAPN crunch..

The gas strikes never have made an ounce of sense to me.. Especially a stirke DAY.. misewell just make it a strike hour.. same effect..
