Woke up this morning, went into the kitchen, turned on the light, and it immediatly went out like it had blown. Then I realized that all the lights in the kitchen were not working, nor was the fridge. Thought I blew a breaker, so I opened up the panal, and I cannot reset it.

So now I gotta go replace a 30amp breaker, but I gotta be in Philly in an hour and a half.. and it takes an hour to get there. Thankfully it is an easy/early day for me, but I am just hoping that all the stuff in my fridge stays cold enough not to spoil.. I went food shopping yesterday.

Did you check to make sure you don't have a defective appliance on that circuit? The circuit breaker may be doing it's job and halting power due to too much draw... A quick check would be to stick a ohm meter in an affected power outlet and see if you have a short or low ohmage from one end to the other.

Hope the beer stays good.

nah.. even if it was a defective appliance, the breaker would have reset and then retripped. I actually tracked it down to the mains coming into my place. For some reason they are outside in a semi-sealed box. I am going to have to replace one of the switches there. Soon as I touched the switch (it was still on, I just sort of gave it a little wiggle) the power came back on.

And I know all about ohm meters.. I am a stage Electrician after all

That sucks man 02.gif

I had a pretty bum week myself actually.

Im working on a phoenix gold amp that I purchased for restoration.

All of the inner electricals have been uprated (new caps and some cool mods to make it run @ .25 ohms) but it was missing an end plate (the one where the connectors and terminals go).

So I cut one from plex using my dremel knock off (which is slow and it took me about 4 hours to do it) and then right on the last holes (for the RCA's) I cracked it mad.gif

I started cutting a new one but realised I couldnt be bothered, so I cut out the broken part and left it open, Im going to mount the sockets in the amp shroud instead.

But it didnt end there, as I flipped the amp over to clean the outer sink one of the RCA's that break off the board snapped.

And the worst part was I had to completely undo all the transistors and gently move them and totally remove the board to fix this, it took hours.

Anyways, enough of my moaning, I will see you wednesday brother smile.gif
