Dropzone Springs!
thats shitty bro, but on the real like others have said you know what the good springs for us are. if u cheap out then u arent going to get what you want.
if u werent going to buy eibach or H&R then u should have just waited and put another 50-80bucks with what you allready spent to get the right parts for the job.

LOL.
(for all the reasons mentioned above).
get the right ones..and replace them.
\
There are no valid reasons listed above. They would have been dangerous to install the way they came from the factory. I made them safe to install and then installed them. Tired of hearing it guys.
I could have seated it partially and expected it to finish seating itself or something. Springs don't work like that. These springs were going on the car and I had assumed the manufacturer failed to cut a ring.
I've driven it around on some tank trails, highways, speedbumps, it works just fine for the mean time.

im sorry, but there is no way around it. cutting springs is never a good idea. you can be tired of hearing it all you want, but we are going to make damn sure people know it so that others dont try it.
a lot of times its unsafe. you can cut off a slightly tapered coil that helps it to sit on the perch better. i dont think what you did was unsafe, but it was still a bad idea. you could have simply exchanged them for the correct year ones, now you have to see if they will cater to you and your cut springs.
you f the spring rate to hell, as well as severely overdamp the car with the loss of length and turn handling to crap. ever see a car bouncing down the road? thats a guy riding on cut springs. doesnt matter what you feel, its a fact of physics.
you should have put the stock ones back on and waited it out. now you have springs that make your car look goofy as heck and the handling even more sloppy. whats worse is that you might have to spend more money to fix the problem because you rushed into things, rather then taking your time and making sure things are ok like you should do whenever you mess around with sections of the car that actually keep you on the road.
you f***ed up, accept it. everything you do is not gold, and the sooner you realize that the sooner you become better at tuning your car.

^^ whatever mang.... I never said I was happy with it. I said I'm planning on working with it.
it's quite an improvement over the shot springs I had before from towing a 2000lb U-Haul, but I would perfer to have the correct springs and am willing to buy a rear set at a reduced price. I was just saying I'm tired of hearing it's unsafe. My car is safer now then it was. Every time i took off, the front would lift off the ground enough to squeel. Now i have a firmer rear suspension and it is easier to retain traction.

I personally think it's hillarious that you kept bumping up this thread because no one responded for the first what, 2 days it was up?
You bought a part, they sent you the wrong one, you should have put your stock suspension back together and gotten the parts replaced.
Instead you go and do one of the dumbest things you can do with springs and cut them.
You made this thread to talk about the springs and what you did to make them fit. Don't get mad because folks are telling you what you did was stupid.
It is.
Also. I wouldn't expect Dropzone to do ANYTHING, and they really don't have to, since you modified them on your own.
If the part don't fit, it's the wrong part.

^^there was no way I was going to remove the front 2 fully functional operational springs. It was written on the box that it was for my car They verified that it was the correct part for my car when i had my rears removed. Like i said, tech support was gone.
Dropzone acknowledged the problem, and is currently R&Ding to make a set for our car from the work I did. I sent them detailed information and I supplied them with the information they need to make springs for our car, and they are working towards getting the issue squared away. They even said that I could have a set of rear springs when they come out because I did 90% of the R&D work. cool.gif
my car is already lowered 1" in the front.

There is no way? Too much work to take off the brand new springs again?
If you are that lazy, you should have just left the fronts on and demanded a new set for the back.
After taking a quick look, they have springs listed for 03-06, and a few sites for 00-06. If you didn't take the time to find out for sure before you ordered them, it's your bad.
LOL
That's just funny.

i wasnt even talkin about the safety issue here. its the point that you could probably have had a new set allready on the way if u wouldnt have cut them. now your stuck with an unsafe spring and looks funny because its not all dropped the same.
you can be tired of hearing it but you should have known that waiting and sending it back would be better.

I did, that's why DZ is giving me the first set of rears. I think I'm going to install my old shocks this weekend until the DZ set gets done. It might be a couple months the guy said.
And, apparently waiting would have been the wrong thing to do because they are comming out with a RD series now based on the 5050 series for GKs.
... more aftermarket support cool.gif
Until i get my new free springs, I put my old ones back on.... Just because SOCKS said it looks like I had a dead body in my trunk.

They said the new line of springs for our cars will be out in about 6 months.
