I don't know how but somebody got into my damm paypal account yesterday and sent a payment of $32.75 to purchase a rapidshare account, they didn't change anything but they sent the money, I went and changed my password and filed an unauthorized payment and today paypal closes the case and says they can't do anything about it, Morons. I check my bank account online and the transaction says pending, so I can call the bank in the morning and have them stop the payment and tell paypal to f*** off. Has anyone done this before and know what paypal will do if I cancel the payment through my bank, will the assholes just try and charge me again, I'm sick of f***ing paypal and will never use this crap again. Hell just three months ago I sold a brand new posi unit for a ford 8.8 rear on ebay and the buyer sends it back a week later saying it's no good and he sent me back a differant rear that was used and destroyed and it's not even for a ford 8.8, it looks like a chevy rear, and paypal gives him his money back, paypal just sucks, I'm gonna call the bank in the morning and have them stop the payment and paypal can suck my nuts, never again.

Chances are that if you cancel payment through your bank they will suspend your paypal account.

I called the bank this morning to stop the payment and they said since it's an instant transfer they can't stop it, I'm like WTF people can just take your money and it's no big deal and there is nothing you can do about it, it's only $32 but thats not the point and then rapidshare emails me back and says there is nothing they can do about it and I asked them for the account info(user & pass)for the account that was purchased and they won't give it to me. I'm just happy I was sitting at my computer at the time and seen the paypal email pop up and I changed my password and username before anymore of my money was spent, Hell I'm about to close my bank accounts and start stuffing my money in my pillow where it will be safe, it just pisse me off how people just get away with this crap and theres just nothing you can do about it but say goodbye to your money.

yeah i'm about to get rid of paypal too and change my credit card number. you can't go too long without doing so or else crap like this will be hapening all too frequently. sorry to hear that you can't get your money back it's just too unfair someone can just take your info and spend money that's not theirs. totally unfair. paypal should do something about it but they don't ever want to take responsability.

i thought paypal was more secure... bastards.

You've gotta watch out for the spam you get from the fake paypal links, what they do is setup a site to look and KINDA function like paypal but when you go there type your user name and pass they get it, and you get an error on the page..Sorry to hear bout that bro, I use rapidshare all the time too

There are all sorts of options to protect your account.

Best thing I've seen paypal do in some time is offer the 1 use credit card system. It's a little app you DL, install, and enter your info in. When you want to pay for something with your "Paypal" Debit card, you just put in the amount, and it gives you a credit card number, an expiration date, and it's only good for that amount.

I've heard of quite a few sellers being screwed by paypal, for exactly the same thing you're talking about. They have so much Buyer protection that they don't give a shit for the sellers. There are ways to protect yourself though... Basically, don't use your bank account, use a VISA. If you get money sent to you on paypal, take it out or spend it asap, that way they can never take it away from you. If the same scenario happened, except the money was taken from a Visa instead of your bank account, you could call Visa and dispute the charge, and 90% of the time you'll be fine. Sure you can never use paypal again, but so what.

Ohhhh yeah, I sold some subs and an amp that I had JUST pulled out of my car working perfectly, the person got it and said "two of these subs don't work and the amp was tested and didnt work" and after about 20 emails paypal took the liberty of giving the $$ back without giving me any other option, so they got a system w. 3 JL 12's and a 2000w amp for free.... but then again I've taken money from people on paypal when they ripped me off, so I can't say im that displeased.
