What is the big deal about people wanting to bring back an old post? I can see if someone has a question, or some advice, thats on an older post; what would be the harm in bringing back that old post?

Not everyone is doing the same projects as everyone else at the same time.

And what if there were a cool post somewhere in here that they wanted to make a comment on, big deal. No harm in letting them voice their opinion is it? Or maybe letting them send a congrats out to someone because they might be new here, and it just so happens to be an older post that they read.

I can see ya'll want to keep the spam down, but why jump on someone because they bring up an old post that they have a question on, or want to give some advice on the matter, or send props to someone.

I just don't see the harm in it. Just my 2 cents. You can go ahead and lock this if you want. LOL laugh.gif

depends on what is being said. there was one that was about 3 months old, and some guy just brought it back w/ a 02.gif face. not necessary at all. and also for my thread titled "is all this necessary." no need to bring THAT back because, as you can tell from my sig, and also from previous posts, my CAI is in fact installed.

all that is really asked for is to take in account the age of the thread, and also if you have something to add....

common sense

Bringing back an old post is never a problem. The posts are kept here (not deleted) for a reason, so that people can find others who have done the same stuff they are doing, and are able to use the posts to get help and insight as to what they should do.

There is no harm in voicing opinions, we encourage it. We don't "jump" on people in a harsh way, sometimes we find it funny that a post from a year ago has been brought up, and we may comment on how old the post is, but we don't mean to be harsh or mean about it in any way.

We Lock threads for the purpose of preventing "whoring" on the forums. The more posts there are, the more space it takes up, obviously. We have the opportunities to hook up with Hyundai in some way, and I believe Java or somebody is working with Hyundai on getting a group meet together for when the First US Hyundai Plant opens up. If we represent the board well with knowledgable threads and topics, that makes us look better and may increase our chances of having something happen. If our forums are filled with junk, profanity, nudity, or "immaturity" then that may hinder our ability to get something done with Hyundai Corporate.

I believe I know which post you are talking about. I recently locked a post that was made on a thread last seen in September of last year. Somebody replied with only a Smiley Face and that was all. This is considered whoring, mostly because nobody had a clue on what they meant by it, and there seemed to be no logical reason for the post. On other forums, when stuff like that happens, others will start whoring as well. This is what I was trying to prevent, and in my post, I believe I mentioned that if he had anything to add to the thread, or anything that was worth mentioning or discussing, I would open it back up for conversation.

We're here for the Hyundai community, not for our own enjoyment of having power. wink.gif

Well Said...

If you actually contribute something when you bring back an old post, thats great. But if it appears that you are just trying to raise the post count, that's when we say something.

Thanks for the replies guys. I guess its just the way I perceived certain posts in the past. Its hard sometimes to tell the attitude of someone thats responding to some of the posts over the internet. Whether it be in forums or anywhere else on the net.

I still have questions that weren't answered about my car. But I felt that if I brought the old post back up, I might get myself attacked in the forum. I brought back one post about my camber problem and the moderator acted like an ass. In his previous post he was talking about using this camber kit for a different style of driving. And I wasn't sure if he had actually tested it for street use, or just assumed it was good for the street, so I asked about it again. Just felt like I was being attacked, no big deal.

My first question in the forum never really got answered. LOL I wanted to know exactly what I needed to change on my car to make it street legal in the states. I figure I'll be in Korea for another two years, and I could slowly buy and replace parts on my car until I get it to American specs. Maybe I'll post the question again at a later date.

Thanks again for the replies, looks like we're on the same sheet of music. Although I can't read music. :?

Well, If it pisses me off, you'll know it.

Right guys? LOL

Usually though, you'll see after being here awhile, it just gets annoying.

Send me some SoJu brotha, and a Russian whore.
