Whenever I do a good bit of city, stop and go driving, I hear it. It's a clicking noise that can be heard on the drivers side of the vehicle. The funny thing is that I can only hear it when I'm in the car. It doesn't sound like anything is loose, it sounds mechanical. Things like this really get on my nerves... I always pop the hood to look and it seems like there isn't even much that would be making this sound... Can anyone relate???

I hear the noise only at idle. Like I said, comes up after some city driving... It's really pretty quiet but I freak out on stuff like this. I've blown a motor before because I didn't pay attention to a tick, once.

Whoa, sounds like you're experiencing the same noise that I had on my old Tib. It was a really annoying ticking sound that I could only hear when it was real quiet.

Solution?........wrecked the Tib.....and that ended my problem with the ticking noise lmao.gif

^^^ I don't recommend this option. But I never did find out what it was, even though I took it in to a few shops and noone else could hear it...

my neon ticked, and my tib does. I traced it to the injectors on my neon, never bothered to check the tib. If you hold a screw driver to one of the injectors and then hold your ear to the screw driver you might be able to tell whats going on....or you could be like one of them "prepared" people and have an automotive stethescope LOL.

It's a very quiet tick, almost like one of those lawn sprinklers.... Like "Click click click" then on occasion it goes crazy and it's like 'clkclkcclkclkclkclkclcclckckllcclc" then back to its rhythmic "click click clicking". Yea. I have the same thing. I was talking to faith last week in ideas to swap to a beta2 head, which he did, and when we were talking of cams he kept quoting this ticking noise he got rid of. Might be a different one, but who knows.

Either MAF sensor, or this thing that says BOSCH. I don't think it is the MAF though...

^^^
That's exactly what it sounds like.... Lawn Sprinklers. So annoying! I'll look into the "Bosch thingey" as I've already looked into the MAF.
