I for one rarely use airconditioning, either in the car (unless I have passengers or I need to not look windblown when I get where I am going) or at home unless the temps get around 100 degrees.

I just prefer the heat and I can be a cheap bastard sometimes.

Anyway, I have been working over at Harrah's casino all summer being a stage electrician for the roadshow "hairspray". Since June I have been fighting a cough from going from 62 degree air conditioned air to 90+ temps and close to 100% humidity (you walk out the back door of the theatre and you are right on the Inlet)

Recently I did a job up at the Children's hospital of Philiadelphia in the onochology ward (cancer patients, VERY depressing) and apparently caught a virus or a cold and it simply took over my already weakened lungs. My sinuses are clogged so tight it is giving me a headache and it really hurts my sides to cough anymore. Not to mention what I am bringing up has an extremely nasty vile taste.

I am also now running a low grade fever. It sucks to be sick in the summer. Going to see my doc in a couple of hours. This thing hit me HARD and fast. I was fine tuesday and yesterday during the second show (two shows on wed and sun) I started to shiver and had to work hard not to cough during the quiet moments. It really sucks that I cannot take time off, nobody knows my cues or moves but me.

The show must go on, hopefully the doc can make me feel a LOT better soon... all because I am not used to air conditioning.

I personally love air conditioning - all summer I cannot handle the heat - I almost pass out whenever I step out the door (especially on the hotter summer days). Over here it gets so humid in summer that it makes it feel even worse.
I have A/C in my store (I work with computers that create alot of heat, so it is a definited necessity) and in my car.
I did get a little sick a couple weeks ago that I thought might have to do partially with A/C, but it is 100% worth it where I live IMO.
I do feel sorry for you though Mad. I hate being sick.

i refuse to use A/C in my car. thats what the windows are for. seriously.... all winter we are forced to put the windows up cuz of snow/coldness, etc. and people always say, "i can't wait to roll down the windows." well, do they? no. they're up cuz of the air conditioning. wtf. enjoy the breeze.

hope you get better Mad...

hey, if you're too sick to work this weekend, go to Hyundai Sunday! haha

Windows don't do me much good when I'm sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on asphalt so hot you can see heat waves rising. They just let more exhaust fumes in, giving me a headache.

It's so humid here that IMO AC is absolutely necessary when driving at night. Even if you don't use it during the day, and love to get out of a car with a sweaty ass, without it to dehumidify the windshield you're driving blind. I swear, VA is worse than FL for Summer humidity. Ugh.

I use the AC in the winter! I like cold weather. I absolutely melt in the summer. I basically wear my AC out. Maybe that's why it keeps on messing up?

I dont use A/C a lot but if its more then 85 outside, I turn the A/C on for at least a few minutes. If I get too hot, I start sweating a lot and get dehydrated quickly. When I was driving around in the Accent back in NJ, it was maybe 82 outside and I was dying in the car..I didnt think i was going to make it to the ups store which was only 4 miles away.

Hope you get better soon Mad and hope its not anything serious. Maybe you've got bronchitis or something?

It sucks to be sick in the summer. I remember I got the weirdest illness ever one time in the summer..Scarlett fever (who gets that anymore?) and it kept me in bed for a week..sucked.

yeah sounds like your CEL. go get your codes read bro.

haha... gotta hate being sick in the summer. i was once very sick in poland one summer. i couldn't move. couldn't eat or drink anything, not even water!!! it was very serious. i got that from going to this lake over there. no way a kid like me caught some cold from jumping in the water. it was that damn lake and something or someone in there! lol.

good luck, and i'm sure when some cooler air comes in you'll be back to normal in no time. i never ever use air conditioning. i used to like A/C cars when i was a kid. not anymore. going through high school i liked the humidity and the hotties that came with it hahah. on the other hand, i almost got a heat stroke a few days ago while playing soccer. that felt really bad. you're not in your normal state of mind but instead survival mode.
