some little town in california shown on CNN this morning has a little full service gas station that is charging this much.
this is what i figured:
my premium price = $3.45/gal
full service price difference = $1.75
now the average time it takes me to fill my tank roughly from empty to full is around 2 minutes. so figuring 5.5 gallons/minute with a $1.75 full service surcharge comes up to the gas station making $9.625/min.
$9.625 x 60min = $577.50/hr!?!?!?!?!?!?
makes you wonder just what all they do on your car for that amount of money.

Highway robbery! (no pun intended)
I'm more shocked that full service stations still exist. I haven't seen one in ages.

Here in Winnipeg,Manitoba,Canada I'm paying $1.10 a liter=about $5.00 a gallon all the time. But,we have Domo Gas which is a full service gas station that (with their coupon) sells their gas at 7 cents a litre less than Shell,Esso,Tempo,Mohawk,or Co-op(most of these are self serve, besides Tempo and Mohawk).Co-op actually has a member discount that you pay full price all year and then they send a big fat check to all of their members once a year.Based on how much gas you buy at the Co-op,determines how big the check.I've seen up to like $600 on some peoples discount.Larrs
