They're pretty bad. Don't bring a radar detector, theyre illegal. My parents brought mine on a road trip, and a cop pulled them over for it, and almost stomped it to destroy it. But my mom works for local police here so he let her keep it.

If you are caught doing 50kph over the speed limit, you get an automatic roadside suspension and your vehile seized, along with a $10,000 fine. If you are caught street racing, they will arrest you and are supposed to crush your car.

I once was caught doing 130 in an 80 zone coming into Niagara Falls. This was luckily before they enacted the seizure law, but I still got a hefty $350 fine, as well as points on my license, which cause NYS to make me pay them another $300. Yes, anything you do in Canada will effect you in your home state.

So, when we do drive together, we will need to be on our best behavior because cops will deifinetly be watchign us. As a matter of fact, Hyundai Sunday 2005, about 5 or 6 of us were driving each in our own modified cars, and we got separated at a light. So I pulled us all over into the bus shoulder to wait for the others to get through the light. Well, of course a Peel Region station was right at that intersection, and of course the had nothing else to do but to pull us over (even though we were already pulled over) and ask us what we are doing. I explained it to them, but they had to waste 20 mins of our time asking each of us what was going on. Eventually they let us go cause we did nothing wrong. They just have nothing better to do.

No, it really felt like that! There were like 3 cop cars there and they were everywhere. Meanwhile, real crimes were being committed.

50km/h over = Vehicle Seizure, License Suspension on the spot, $2000-$10,000 fine

I do 120km/h regularly and never have any problems, just keep an eye out and let your foot off the gas when you see them.

As long as you look well over 19, you should be ok without ID.

 

Well, looks like we may have to have a hotel party anyway, the way things are going. Not sure yet, but I may end up having to just stay at a hotel for the weekend. So, a bunch of us could maybe split 1-2 rooms and just have a hotel party like we did in 05. That was the shit.

yeah I wanna find that damn tunnel again. I found a similar one a couple months ago but I dont think it was the same one. It was shorter than I remember.
