Im really not sure, I usually just go for Canadian. You can bring some in but dont bring too much. I'd say no more than a 6 pack, cause Im not sure what the exact limitations are on beer but for liqour you can only have 2 bottles per person. Just make sure you declare them at the border. Worst case scenario they'll take them away, thats all. My dad tried to bring like 10 cartons of cigarrettes bewteen three people over the border. After searching his car, they made him pay $50 in duties because his insisted on keeping them, lol.
But you really shouldnt have a problem.
Also they always ask you if you have weapons or firearms. Just simply say no, do not joke around about it. Thats what got my dad's car searched in the first place, cause he made a dumb joke about living in NY and owning guns.

Package store? You mean to ship stuff from? They have UPS Store and I think I saw a fedex/kinkos just before.
As for Liquour stores, well, it sucks here for that. You can't run to the 7-11 at 3am if you need more beer. You can only buy Liquor at the LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario) or the Beer Store. And their hours are not convenient. Closed on holidays, and Im not sure about Sundays if they are open. So you gotta plan when youre gonna drink. I miss being able to get a 40 for $3 at any time of the night at the sev's down the block from my house.
