Religion Topic, Long 1st Post
The NBA comment was a joke, I am glad it was kinda better written though I know it still sucked. That was mad interesting last bit of knowledge and on a positive note for the thread I have enjoyed the multiple reads. Gave me something to excersice my brain in this night shift atmosphere.
QUOTE (Joshuwa @ Apr 15 2005, 04:47 AM)
Muhammad wrote the Koran almost 1500 years ago. Muhammad was an illiterate man - he could not write nor read. Yet he wrote a book containing words that no other Arabic writer could ever come close to in its perfection of prose and language use. There are words in the Koran that the best Arabic writers don't even know what they mean.
Plz dont say That Muhammad (S.A.W.) wrote the Quran, because it is not true.
The prohet (SAW) does not claim to write it, so plz dont say he wrote it. and as you said he was illiterate, so he could not have written it.
Iam, however very impressed with your scientific knowledge of the quran, joshua.
Joshua...very impressive!
Now I won't get into any details in what I think but I will share some quotes from Albert Einstein one of the greatest minds of the 20 century. Believe or not he had smart things to say on the topic at hand which I find very interesting and true.
Science and Religion do go hand in hand. Like Joshua said there are some things that have only been explained through Science and others by Religion. If we use both together instead against each other, maybe one day someone will find the truth. This brings up the first quote.
"Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind." I thought this one was funny. lmao.gif
I think Red said that it doesn't matter what belief you have as long as you live your life in a good manner. Second quote is...
"True religion is real living; living with all one's soul, with all one's goodness and
righteousness."
I'm going to bed now because it's late but to finish up I'm glad to see someone bring up this topic and for people to reply voicing their opinions. It shows that we do think about this, we do have a curiosity and for the most part we will always question what is true or not. That in itself will help us find the truth...maybe not in my life time but someday. Last quote...
"The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reasons for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he/she contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity." fing02.gif

you know...i read most all posts in this topic. to be honest, there are a lot of ignorant people here, but thats my opinion.
i wont say much about religion, but here's my take.
i've done too much stuff to believe that i am to be welcomed into heaven.
i've seen too much to not believe that there is a God.
what i do know, is that without God, or any religion for that matter, there would be more than just chaos in this world. there would be no law.
i believe that people who have no religion have no sense of respect. how can you respect anyone or anything when you cannot respect a God that has given you so much?
and i forget whoever said it, but yea, you don't have to believe in God or any other religion, but dont go around calling people who have religion "morons" or "idiots". you might say that to the wrong person one day and find yourself in a bit of trouble.
