Do you guys usually pay on the first date, or split it? I have heard different opinions from guys on this. Some thing a guy should always pay. Others think that a first date should be split evenly as you're first getting to know each other. Thoughts?

 

first one i usually pay. but then i have a good job, so usually its only fair.

I always pay for first date. Usually second date too. I will never ask for a girl to pay. I will pay until they offer to pay.

 

You should always pay unless they insist. Remember: unless you are wasting time, dating is marriage-candidate selection. When you get married and she decides to be a mommy, you will always be paying . . . get used to the idea.

 

I think if a guy asks a girl out, he should pay. If a girl asks the guy out to dinner, then the girl should pay. Only fair, right?

 

^That is very fair. I can't even imagine a girl asking me out to dinner though...I'm sure it happens for some guys but I pretty much figure I'm gonna have to not only ask, but be pretty convincing lol.

 

Since every girl I've dated has started out as a friend, we are usually already in a "split everything" place.

 

i think the best girls out there dont mind you paying the first few dates but feel badly that they never pay after a couple. shows that they're not gold diggers.
