Default will this rim fit?

hi all,

i'm seriously considering getting Rota P45s.

it's 17 x 9 and has an offset of 25.

any idea if it'll fit the RD1? any potential rubbing issues?

what safe wheel spec should i be wrapping it around without any fear of rubbing?

thanks in advance guys!

ok, just to bump up the thread.. here's the wheel i'm looking at purchasing if ever.

exact color. i think it'd look good on a gun metal gray RD1.

don't hate the rotas hehe. they're made in my country so i can get them relatively cheaper

I like the wheels, but have no clue how to do tire maths.

nope, wont fit

tib offset is approx -40

your adding a wheel that is +25 and is 3 inches wider than stock and designed to work on a RWD vehicle

more than likely not gonna happen

faith, thanks.. you just put into writing what i suspected. it'd work but would need a lot of work to the fenders.. bah.. sucks. really wanted the wheels too.

anyway, what are the "Max" offsets and widths we can put into our RD1s without rubbing issues?

well depends....are you lowered

i would recommend goin no wider than a 8 wheel with a range of -35 through -45 with a test fit of course before purchasing

that is unless you have coilovers then you might be able to fit different sizes

yup, i'm currently lowered with 17s on H&R sport springs. i only have 1 finger gap between the front fenders and the wheel.

i just want to change my wheels into something wider (specifically the back). the wheels of the RD1 tuck too much inside the car.

i'm not going for hellaflush though. just a heads up

i don't have a proper pic to illustrate the current drop but here's a pic just in case you can figure out how the RD1 currently sits:

....if all you have is a half inch to the fender and you want to push it towards it more you are goin for HERRAFLUSH

weeeeeeeeeeell.. i'm probably going for "flush" and not "hellaflush" (larger than 17s and lots of negative camber paired with a really low static / bagged drop).

best i can probably do is find that wheel with -35 offset and stay within 8 inches. that or try to find spacers that are a bit wider.

sorry for the instragram filter btw haha.

I want to space out the rear wheels of my RD2 as well, just so it doesn't look like the body is hanging way out over the wheels
