You can look here http://www.tirerack.com/index.jsp

You can see what the wheels will look on your car and will tell yoyu the wieght of the wheel (for the most part). I don't know if they have any forged wheels for out cars, but it won't hurt to check it out.

lightweight to most is being at or under the diameter of the wheel. very rough statement though, as you have wheel width as a factor as well.

That is how Sport Compact Car defines light.. it should weigh less than it's diameter. The larger you go, the harder it gets to find lightweight wheels. 16 is about the cut off... shame they make so few styles in 16 inch anymore.

cool, thanks for the links and help guys. the more help the better.

so basically if i'm getting 16's i'd want the rim to be under 13lbs... and in 17's under 16lbs...

anyone have any idea how much the stock tib rim weighs? i know this has been asked before and OP said something like 18-19 lbs or something, anyone else actually measured the weight of the rim itself?

Ehh, I'd stick with what they said above, as long as the weight of the rim matches the size of the rim or so, you should be good. 16's that weigh 16 pounds or less.

The OEM rims for the RD2's weigh about 23 a piece.

Yeah, good luck finding it cheap.

Problem is...our bolt pattern is pretty rare...so you're not going to find something relatively inexpensive for what you want. You could do a hub conversion with the GKs, but that just depends on whether or not you really want the bigger selection of rims.

The problems with the Volk TE37, or any VR/Mackin Industries/Rays Wheels rims is that they're off-shore (Japan). So the long 3 months is waiting for the company to ship over a fresh batch of rims for you...and then you ask yourself whether or not it was worth the wait and the money.

As for Enkei...they have good lightweight rims, though they are casted...they're relatively strong and durable. And I've seen more lightweight Enkeis w/our bolt pattern...but there's no way you can expect a forged lightweight to be cheap for our bolt pattern. It's mostly our bolt pattern that screws us over...stupid 4-bolts.

I love these! They look so good on my car and they are fairly light weight. This is the website I ordered them from.
