Rubbing, depends on wheel offset, and if you have a drop.

Shaking depends on wheel/tire balance, and if you have the proper hubcentric adapter installed for the wheel (if it even needs one)

Whoops, sorry, missed the 42 in your first post. My apologies.

With no drop you should be okay.

If you ever drop it, with a 7" wide wheel, you should really go with a lower offset, something more like 38 or 35. With the 42 offset on 7" wheels, you are going to look like you have a LOT of fender room.

If I'm not mistaken, someone is selling those wheels used in the for sale forum.

I have been conversing with the head guy at 1010 for some time now about their wheels/tires and fitting them on Hyundais. I, myself, plan on Motegi MR12s.

Here are some transripts from our e-mails:

"Your O.E.M. size was probably 195/60R14 or 195/55R15. The correct 17" size for this would be 205/40R17. That will keep your speedo in calibration and any other systems happy. If you're looking for an economical tire, then Yokohama AVID H4 in all season or Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 in summer are your best bets. If you're looking for the best performance and money isn't an issue, the Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position is it. In between this the Bridgestone RE950 all season is also worth considering.
"205/40R17 is good for rim widths from 7.0" to 8.0"

"215/40R17 is good for rim widths from 7.0" to 8.5"

"So both sizes will work on that RIM, but 205/40R17 is better for that CAR.

"The Kumho's are a great value. Good performance and handling for a really good price.

Your O.E.M. tire is 23.3" tall.
The 205/40R17 is 23.4" tall
The 215/40R17 is 23.8" tall

"The closer you stay to the original diameter, the better. This way your speedometer will stay in calibration. Your ABS system will not be effected. You fuel mileage shouldn't be effected, and also the narrower tire is less likely to rub on the fender lip. I guess what it comes down to is I can guarantee the 205/40R17 will fit not problem. The 215/40R17 you would want to test fit. They should work, but I just couldn't guarantee it."

Now I have a question of my own. With the MR12 17x7.5", we can fit a 205 or 215 tire. I was told to use 205 but someone else told me 215 is wider and better and looks better than a 7.5". However, I heard you risk rubbing on that size of tire. Thoughts?
