well i have a project that i am going to be taking on sometime soon, and i am going to need to have my wheels farther out for it to look right. how wide could i go with wheel spacers before it will affect my suspension, camber, and be negative on my tires/handling.

im not really good with all this suspension jazz, and i need to know how to do this right. i was thinking of 1" spacers all around, with extended studs, and the hubcentric center for the wheel. is that too much?

i really wanna avoid having to get different wheels because i don't wanna spend the money on it, and i wanna be able to switch back to my stock rims without the car looking retarded..

help, i am a suspension n00b.

25mm one will work perfectly for the OEM rims.

you have to remember, any pushing out of the wheels will increase the load on our shitty wheel bearings.

yeah and definitely offset man. we have 42-45 offset. the best offset for us possible is 43 like O.Z. racing superturismo. If you play with spacers, you're endangering the life of your bearings because there's more weight on them. it's like if you carry a bucket, how far would you walk holding the bucket close to your body as opposed to straight out. not long straight out i suppose.

I reckon 15mm is as big as the arches would allow without having to modify them. An inch (25.4mm) would be excessive even if you did modify the arches as it would severely affect the way the car steers. Then there's also the issue of the bearings as everyone has pointed out, not to mention your CV joints, camber & everything else...

It'd look really cool though fing02.gif

well , lets just say i wouldnt have to worry about the arches...

hmm, looks like i may have to go with some wider wheels than.. now to try and find some 9" wide 17s".... thats not going to be fun at all..

i NEED the wheels to go out AT LEAST 1" somehow.. or what im doing will look retarded.

The Nissan 180SX has a bolt pattern of 4x114.3 like ours & most I've seen have had 8" or wider wheels. It shouldn't be too hard to find some.
