Default Wheel shake under HARD braking.

The other day I noticed coming off the high way my wheel shakes noticeably under somewhat hard braking, however city and spirited driving its fine.
Now I just got new tires put on, and the wheels are balanced and the car is aligned as far as I know. Like I said this just started the other day.
Could this be related to worn out strut mounts? I hear a thump sometimes from the suspension (not sway bar).

Sorry to ask newb questions

I guess it's hard to tell what you personally consider to be hard braking, but if it's rhythmic it could be warped rotors. That usually shows up with moderate braking (IMO) or even easy braking if they're really warped.

Pulling = alignment
Vibration at speed = balance
Vibration while braking = warped rotors
