Default Wheel Question

Coming spring I'm planning to get rims and springs. Out of all the rims I've seen I like these the best, but I'm not happy about the weight. 22lbs.

Velox VX8 17"x7.5" +40 offset.

Will I be ok with these without fear of rubbing?
Most likely I'll be going with a 1.75" drop if not less.
Also, anyone know of a lighter wheel that looks similar to this?

Oh yeah I drive a 2001 Tib. Thanks

Hey man, I Live in Richmond Hill, and I got a 2K Tib and I have 18's with a 2.3" drop and I have no rubbing what so ever. I should let you know though that I have a camber kit as well.

So with your 17's and a 1.7 inch drop I think you should have nothing to worry about.

Batman, I have 215/35 tires and the offset is +42 and my camber is set at 0 degrees but my coilovers are very very stiff and the the shock rebound is also very stiff, so when taking corners my wheels don't rub or hit the side of the fenders.

Oh I almost forgot to mention about the spring perch, with any size tire bigger than 35 profile or if you do not have a camber kit, you will 100% for sure hit and rub the spring perch. When looking at the space between the tire and spring perch there's less than an inch gap between there.

Thanks guys for the replies.
I don't know enough about camber kits yet so I guess I'll be doing some searching on this. Is this something I would be able to install/adjust myself or would I need a shop to do this for me?

GShark, assuming you're using sleeve coilovers, are you using the one for ground control and what struts are you using?
I'll probably need a stiff set cause I occasionally that some turns pretty hard.
Alos what the width on your 18s? Thanks you've been alot of help.

AxNzSandMan, I am using the GroundControl sleeve coilovers, and as for my shocks I'm using the KYB GR2's. I should let you know that the GroundControl coilover sleeves are pretty stiff, meaning that you can take corners pretty hard and you won't have to worry about rubbing that fender.

As for the width of my tires their 215.

If you have anymore question don't hesitate to ask. smile.gif smile.gif

They don't look exactly like them but they have a similar design.

The Konig Absolutes are only 18.88lbs

And personally I like them if I wanted black rims, I don't but they are sweet black rims are the Konig Blatant Carbon's they only weigh 18.14lbs, these are both 17 x 7
