also check if you have captive brake setup or not. With captive setup you have 4 bolts between studs on the wheel hub, it makes smaller choise of rims that will fit.

It's a 4 x 114.3 pitch circle diameter & a +42 offset.

The max tire size will depend on the rim size you choose (& vice-versa).

If hypothetically you went for 17" x 7" rims with roughly a +40 offset, a good tire size would be 205/40-17 or even 215/40-17 & you should be pretty safe from rubbing, so long as the drop isn't too extreme.

A 99 should be a standard brake setup. I beleive only the 96, 97, and some 98s had the captive set up.
