What would make lowering springs > coil overs

What would make lowering springs > coil overs

Other than the costs associated with buying coil overs versus springs, is there any other reason that springs would be a better option than coil overs?

I guess you get to choose from a wider range of dampers than when purchasing coilovers. You sacrifice some adjustability though.
