You have the front brakes from a 2006 Elantra right? If so, I suggest going with Carbotech AX6 pads if you want the best braking for a street driven car. It will have more noise and dust than a typical street pad but it'll also have much more bite and good fade resistance for a pad that doesn't need to be heated up to stop you. Your part number is CT422 and the MSRP is $133.

Hawk HPS brake pads are a better choice IMO than the EBC pads. The correct part number is HB262F.540 for you (whoops, no that's the rears) and I see them several places online for $63.99. I've never known anyone who was happy with the EBC Red Stuff pads in any application. I have never run them myself but I've heard that they don't warm up well, and once they're warm they don't bite nearly as hard as other race pads.

The EBC Red Stuff pads don't have good bite at cool temperatures, I.E. when you first start driving the car or after you've been cruising and the brakes have cooled you may not be able to make an emergency stop. If you know that and are willing to take that risk the Carbotech line of racing pads would be significantly better than the EBC pads. If I was making that compromise I would get the XP8 or XP10 pads. You can read about the compounds and make your own choice here.

If you want to avoid brake dust and noise while still having decent braking, I suggest the Carbotech Bobcat 1521 pads.

The EBC rotors would be fine.

Thanks, i think i might roll with the Hawks pads. BTW you gave me the PN for the rears. I need the fronts. HB261F.665

I just want a pad that going to be better than the stock. I dont loads of cash to throw around for the pads and rotors.

Sorry about that. On Hawk's website they don't list any front pads for the 2006 Elantra. How did you figure out the front part number?

Are ebay rotors a good deal. I see R1 concepts on ebay. Are they any good?
