Mineral Point isn't that bad...when I lived in Madison I headed way up north to the "Boo-hoo yonder ya dere."

#1 I went to College in River Falls, WI.
#2 I didn't even get to live IN a city when I first moved to MN. We lived in a "township". It was a 15 minute drive to go get gas! Our address was "Rural Route 2". Total BOONIES man.
Nowhere couldn't even be found out there, not to mention the middle of it! Hell, that would have at least been the middle of sumthin!
