Which rotors are better for hard use on street, Drilled or Slotted!

I don't track my car but do like to speed it! I have heard that the drilled rotors are lighter, but might tend to crack, and that the Slotted are better in humid weather conditions and have more surface to brake... But I don't really know about BBK's, and I want to choose the right rotors for my car. Thanks.

Stock rotors do just fine! Also what you are looking for are better pads, not rotors! If your on the street use stock rotors.

Unless your tracking the car, there is no need for drilled or slotted, simply on the streets you wont be creating enough heat to even put the drilled or slotted rotors to work and getting any use out of them.

What you would want are stock rotors and Hawk pads or maybe so EBC's Red stuff pads!

^ Red stuff is for track! DONT GET THOSE FOR STREET USE!!! They need to warm up first before stopping a car. If they're not warmed up, then you could crash pretty easily.

Go with Green Stuff, if you want EBC's. They're designed for street usage and dont require alot of warm up to stop a car.

I have been running drilled and slotted with a decent set of pads for years now, love then. I would agree with the above for more bite just the pads and trued rotors are usually enough for a stock power handling.

i ran stock brakes, as a matter of fact, the cheapest possible autozone when i was boosted.. granted i didn't track it, but never had any trouble stopping..

Size matters and bigger is better. The more surface area, the better they cool and the more friction area. Drilled or slotted rotors have less benefits than running a stock rotor. I can provide more info if you would like, but it's mostly common sense. Do not use drilled or slotted rotors.

I think it was tireracks magazine or website where I read about which style rotors are for street/track use and which ones are just for looks.

Slotted or cross drilled rotors actually decrease braking performance because you have less surface for the pads to use for slowing your car down. If you are just after cooler running brakes then cross drilled are probably the best.
