Rims Don't Fit
So I got the last Tenzo that had damage repaired and balanced. I was really excited today to get them on the car.
So, I went to put them on and the back went on OK, they looked so nice and really cheered me up because I have had a really crap week (reveresed into a red pole last night so more paint repairs needed) and work has been quiet as balls.
Anyway, the rims dont fit, simply because of my captive rotors the bolts are in the way of them sitting right, and the spacers I have arent deep enough to cover the captive bolts nor do they sit over them.
Has anyone else had this problem? Im absolutely flat broke now, so any help on this would be REALLY appreciated.. Are there spacers out there for this purpose? or does anyone know where I can get some made up?
Thanks !
Andy

there are all kinds of quick and cheap fixes for captive rotors with wheels, but none of them are really recommended or safe. best bet is to yank some non-captive parts of a junkyard tib, that's the cheapest route.
other than that, just wait it out with the stockers.

I just ordered some 5/16 spacers, they should be more than deep enough to lose the rotor bolts smile.gif
Theyll be here mid week, Ill update when they arrive but they may need modding slightly smile.gif
Says that you should have at least 7 turns of the lug before it bites, I have alot more than that with the 5mm spacers on.

hahah i drilled the shit out of my old wheels. but i dont recommend it to ur fresh new set.
the spacers should clear them. the spacers i had did not have room for the holes so i had to file some of it to fit.
^^^ this caused a slight vibration to the steering wheel.
hope ur spacers fit the holes.

a non-captive swap is an easy and fun swap to familiarize yourself with the tib's wheel well..
Shouldn't cost you more than $100 all around. And will the a safe alternative with no steering wheel vibrations.
And will make life easier down the road when you want to get rotors for all 4 sides..
And is easy wink1.gif

This saturday I am going to drag Andy around a couple of the U-Pull it yards and see if we can't grab everything we need from an elantra. This is after touching up his paint and maybe looking into his timing belt.
I also need a spare tire for my BMW.. anybody know what GM models use a 5x120 bolt pattern?

The rims are new, I bought them from that Kaw dude.. Theyre pretty mint, one however had a whack but I got that sorted out and it runs clean on the back of the car. They were cheap.. Well, 4 Tenzo passion R with decent tires for $400 I consider cheap, but then at the same time it was alot of dough to sink on one thing..
Popped over to see Art tonight, and I think we'll get them on ok smile.gif
arent new.. arent lol..
