Ok, i search and i don't think there is anything that can answer this.

Firstly, does anyone know the weight of our 15" rims.

Secondly, i think i'm going to get the 17" x 7" Exel P-5 Rims (Silver Finish), with 205/40/17 Tires

https://www.wheelmax.com/product.asp?ProdId=9874

I was wondering, how much this will affect acceleration etc. Will it be very noticable or not. I really want 17's, but if this is going to drastically affect my take off..etc, then i might consider 16's. I don't race at the track or anything so i'm not really worried about that.

our 15s are about 18lbs each.

Those wheels are ugly IMO, but if you like them get them. I'd assume they are over 21lbs each, so your acceleration will decreased, but probably not something you can really notice.

I'm wary of any 17 inch rim, I'm even more wary if they don't have the weight.

Do a search on the site here for "Tire Calc" and use the links in that thread to see what the difference is.

Be prepared to have a rougher ride, damaged rims, and a slower car.

Spend the extra money and get a lightweight 17. The ones I'm hoping to get in the next year or so are going to cost me around $1000 with tires, but weigh only 11 lbs a piece smile.gif

Yep, if the wieght's not listed, it's a good bet they're over 20lbs. That's what I like about Discount Tire and Tire Rack, they have most of the wheel's weight listed.

I do not recommend the Exel P-5s. I had a set of 17" P-5s, white, on my white first gen, and they were junk. Honestly. They bent a whole lot easier than any other rim I've had, I cracked two of them, from hitting small potholes, and they discolored after about 9 months of being on the car. My white rims were quickly becoming yellow, and I whiped my rims down nearly everyday weather permitting.

Really. Well the other ones i had in mind are the Konig Prophets. (Opal Finish)

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/f...14.3&vid=006104

They weigh around 22.5 Lbs each, compared to 18 Lbs stock. Will this slow my car down a whole lot, or will it be hard to notice. I don't mind if it does a little bit, i just don't want to feel like i'm dragging an anchor.

It will not slow the car dramasticly, but you will feel some decrease in acceleration.

Yeah,

I'm never one to say, "If I were you" because I'm not.

But I would recommend the Konigs. I run 17" Konig Troubles right now and am very satisfied. I won't speak on the hand about racing as I don't do it anymore.

Check out www.BuyWheelsToday.com and look around, if you like something you see, call them up and talk to Felix. He's always been straight with me on pricing and stuff. I've been buying wheels from him for probably close to nine years now. Their reliable, reasonable, and have always given good customer service to me, and I'm sure everyone of their customers. They've been around for a couple decades and are out of Cincy, OH. Found them when they were a small deal when I use to live up near Dayton, and just stuck with them.

I'd send you a catalog but don't know how soon your looking to buy. If your looking like in a couple of weeks or more, I'll mail it out to you. If your looking at like tomorrow, just check out the website.

Yeah, Konig makes some very nice rims, decent quality, and a GOOD price.

Excel isn't known for any of those things.
