Rear Wheel Bearing Clarification
so im looking for some clarification since every thread i find seems to contradict the other.
the rear wheel bearing, is it possible to buy and replace just the wheel bearing itself without the hub? cause locally they want about 130 for the rear and only 30 bucks for the front, problem is... they told me they dont carry just the bearing, just the entire hub 02.gif
any ideas or any real answers would be good, not any 'well i think' or 'it should work' since all the threads seem to contain that
thanks alot guys

Go to autozone and ask for hte hub, you dont want just the bearings. You can do it in the parking lot, yourself, in a half hour if you have basic mechanical skills.
The fronts should be done by a shop.

well im planning to do both so its sort of comparing a big bill to a small one lol, i have access to presses and all, is it just a pain in the ass or is it actually something you cant press out due to it being 1 peice
ya i usually end up with the alignment being a tad off anytime i mess with the drive/suspension portion of the front
does autozone carry just the bearings themselves? cause part source told me to check out a bearing supplier because they only have the hub version
thanks for the help btw

Hyundai ONLY sell the bearings pre-pressed into the rear hubs from the factory.
However, it IS possible to get the rear bearings from a bearing manufacturer and press them in yourself.
Unless you can get a good deal on the whole rear hub assembly, pressing the rears is the cheapest way to go.
The bearings wont be listed for the car, but if you take one into a bearing shop and have it measured up, you can find one that way.

Um bryfx sorry dude but you can't serious?
If and I mean IF you could figure out what bearing is in the hub your now gonna press the old one out of the FACTORY sealed hub and press a new one in?
Oh ya that should go well.
The rear hub is not that expensive for our cars (in relation to other vehicles)
