Rare Tire size
I currently have 205/45r16 tires. I'll have them for a long while but when they are dead I was seriously thinking of moving to a 225/40r16. This is a bit shorter (about half an inch shorter in overall diameter than the stock 195/55r15 diameter and much wider. Not many peeps have 16"rims and definatly havn't tried a size like this. My question is:
Is the overall diameter drop considered alot (too much) &
With 225mm wide, do you think (with a prospective 1.5"drop)and the shorter diameter that it will rub at all (including hard cornering).
I want to do this because of the bigger "foot print it will have and the slightly stiffer wheel wall. Thnks smile.gif

Your tires will "bulge" off of the rim. You will, if they can mount them, lose cornering ability with "bulged" tires. You know how everyone makes fun of old Camaros, well that is partly why. They used to put really wide tires on for traction but they look really sad. Your low profile tires will make even mounting them difficult.
