sorta confused on the difference between a hub vs spindle/knuckle and captive vs non-captive thing...
i know what a hub is, but ive usually always referred to it as the whole assembly. captive means its all together right? non-captive is its all together, but u can take it apart?

in that pic, i have the hub/spindle/knuckle right? and its non-captive also?
lol, sorry for the noob question..im sure someone else besides me will find this informative someday though.
oh, and im going to need to get a new bearing for that also right?

hi mang, I'm answering on AIM, but you can't read it. 02.gif
what do you want to do with hub?
you have non-captive
(captive is when brake rotor is bolted to spindel from the inside)

captive rotors have notches for the rims and the non-captive are pretty much flat. The captive rotors "capture" the wheel. It's an annoying feature and completely not needed.
