Quick-q's Before Buying Rims.

captive rotors, do I have them?
second, what is the largest sized rim I can use on stock setup, and what tire size would I accomodate it with?
also, what restricts the size of rim I can use? Can I remove the restriction with some coilovers? if so, who offers some decent well priced coils? would like something that drops the car about 1.5-2 inches.

No, you don't. Checking our FAQ or doing a search would show you that my man.
The largest size rim? Ugh. You could fit 18's on there, I've heard of them fitting. The ride is horrible and they damage easily, but if you are into rice and looks and care nothing of performance, be my guest. I'd assume the tires would have to be rubberbands. Again though, this has been talked about.
What restricts the size of rim you can use? LOL Are you wanting "Dubs" or some silly shit like that? The wheel well and your fender restrict that size mostly.

a 0.002 second search found me the answer to your first question, lol.
No you do not have captive rotors (lucky bastid...). you have NON-CAPTIVE rotors.
Most of the people here would suggest 17" rims as the largest rim size to go for your tib. But take in to consideration what do you want from your tib? driveability? showability? performance? low track numbers?
If you're going for show and the bling factor, there are MANY choices of 17" rims out there. We have even seen 18" rims but they begin to have problems when you lower your car. If you MUST have 18" then be prepared to shell out the cash or have the time to begin cutting out parts of your fender well and re0adjusting things so your tires will have the room to turn. 18" rims can also be a hassle for everyday driving (easily damaed on bad roads w/ thin tires).
performance, which I think you should do: then go with some lightweight 16" wheels. The lighter the better. 16" because they are lighter than 17" and have less rotational mass.
you lower your car as much as you want with coilovers. They are very expensive but worth every penny in my books. Tein is a known and trusted name in coilovers. There are others though, search!

thanks guy. I'm not going for the bling look, I just want a clean look that does a good job of filling of the wheel-gap. I'm no racer but I do appreciate the handling as I do drive rather "spirited" as the officer said. cool.gif joke.gif
anyways, 17's. Good. Any recommendations of how wide? 17x7? 17x8? I love how 17x8 looks, just wondering if it would fit.
for you guys with 17's, do you use 40 or 45 profile tires?
my last car was a Probe GT with 18x7.5 MSR 105's and I used 215/40/18

Well then, my recommendation is a 16 or 17 inch rim (Go 16 with a slightly bigger tire, I'm running a 50), and then drop your ride with some Eibachs.

WORD^
I have 17's with 205/40/17. Best recommendation with 17's is 215/40/17
But I regret not goin with fatty street tires and 16" rims.

i wanted some extra tire to protect my wheels a bit. my setup...
16x7 rims, 40mm offset
205/45/16 tire.
ive hit a couple good potholes, one that made my radio skip for like 3 seconds. not a single bend or crack....i check very good(rims were 4 days old at that point).
oh yeah, and im lowered a lot, not sure how much.
