Question for you guys who buy used pads at junkyards
I read on here how some of you guys buy used brake pads from junkyards really cheap. I have some questions for you:
1. If you're using new rotors, how do the used pads get bedded in properly with the rotors? Arent new pads supposed to bed in with rotors properly?
2. If you take a set of pads off of a car, how do you know by looking at them if they are semi-metallic or ceramic?

If you're buying pads from a junkyard, you don't care what they're made of
Pads will bed to rotors, new or not, within a few miles, and then you are good to go. Drive easy on any fresh set of pads and don't get the rotors turned unless they REALLY need it.
