Default Question again

How long does it actually take to do a 4 tire balance and mounting? I was at my dealership today, and I was in a hurry so this was partly my fault, but they didn't give me my stock tires back, which I'm not going to use them come summer time anyways, but none the less it didn't happen, and it also took 3 hours. I really didn't think it should have taken this long.

Did this involve any waiting time?? or did the clock start when they had your car on the lift? I waited about the same amount of time but they had a few cars in front of me...

They did not give you your stock tires back because you probably paid a disposal fee when you bought the new tires. 99% of the time, they just dump the old ones, so the shops never bother to ask people if they want their tires back, or if they want to pay the disposal fee...they just do it.

3 hours is WAY TOO SLOW. I would have been inquiring after my car after just the first 45 minutes. I've had 4 tires mount and balanced in under 20, but 45 minutes at the most.

Thats what I figured Random about the disposal, I called them today, and they are going to check to see if they still have my tires.

I would have just thought that seeing that I had brought in "Winter" Tires that they would have given my old ones back.

Either way 20000 miles on the stockers isn't a whole lot either. Oh well we all know what happens when you assume, it makes a me out of you and an ass, or something like that rolleyes.gif

Dont feel bad about 20000 miles on your stock tires. Mine only lasted me 32000.

A friend of mine bought 4 new Pirellis for his car in the spring. He went back 10 000km later in the fall to get snow tires from the same tire shop. When he got home he realized that his summer tires weren't in the trunk. He called them up to find out where his tires were, and they said they didn't think he wanted them! I'll bet if he called an hour later they would have already been installed on one of the tire jockeys cars!
