your biggest tire selection for a compact will be with 15s. with 16s the tire selection is getting slim in sizes optimal for an accent. I fit 215/45/16s on my x3 but I wouldn't suggest it for daily use because it is a lot taller and it will probably rub. My personal opinion is that 16s look better on lc/lc2 accents whereas 15s match better on an x3 accent.

i'd suggest looking for some 15s. 15x6.5 or 15x7 will work and for tires they make plenty in 195/50/15, 205/50/15 and 195/55/15. All will work on an accent but the 205/50/15 and 195/55/15 will give you a slight increase in gearing and will set your speedo off a small amount.

Tire choice is based on what you plan on doing for the change of seasons. I'm a firm believer in having 2 sets of wheels and tires, one with snow tires or all seasons for the winter months and one set with summer tires for the other 8-9 months. There are plenty of great summer tires out there for a reasonable price. how aggressive you go is your decision, most ultra hi-po summer tires aren't that great in the rain and are definately a no-no in the snow.

good luck with your search
