need to replace brake pads . . . soon
Am just wondering what kind to go with.
The dealership quoted me $56.85 for their pads.
I've got a guy to put 'em on cheap enough, just wonder where I need to go to get good brakes. Any experiences? One's to stay away from?
Some may know, I do a LOT of driving, highways, byways... will do more interstate (heavy traffic/stop,go) driving come spring.

I will say this: avoid Albany Brake pads. They are waaaaaaaaaaay too soft. I'd go with either the stock pads again or Axxis Metal Master pads from www.buybrakes.com.

I've seen those Axxis metal masters somewhere... groupbuy maybe.

yeah i would get the EBC pads because they are high quality and the low dust forumla
but whatever you do stay away from PBR pads they are HORRIBLE waaaay soft and they claim they are low dust formula but within a hour of driving my car they are covered in dust stay away !

one time my dealership quote me something like $245 all together to change my brake pads..i was like umm...no thank you..i bought pads from autozone for like $25 and my g/f's father installed them in for free

Well, I was all about getting these Axxis Metal Masters, then I noticed they are the SAME thing as the PBR's (I was told to stay away from).
Only brakes I can get here (well, they still have to be ordered from any parts store I call), are Wagner's.
ANY experience w/ these?

I've heard from a couple people that the pads they have at hyundaiperformance.com are pretty good. They're XKR or something. They're more expensive though. Not as expensive as EBC greenstuff though.

You can try Porterfield Brakes. Their R4S line of pads are carbon metallic and are great for aggressive street and mild racing (autocross or limited track events). They have a higher friction coefficient then any other pads available for our cars. The application selection chart on the page does not list Hyundai, but trust me, they have them. It cost me just under $200 for both front and rear sets.
