After all of the drama and garbage I finally found some wheels and got them shipped! I was REALLY holding my breath on this one, I didn't want anything to jinx it.

The wheels are Maxxim Grip 17". At first I was worried that the gold color would look gaudy on the red of the Tib, but honestly I think they look good.
I originally though I wanted black w/ polished or red lip, but the Porsche's Fuchsed and there's really no fun in having all the same wheel. I choose to go 17" despite what I have read here, only because of the availability of tires. Finding 16" tires is hard, and even the stock 15's locally cost at least $100 a picece for anything of name brand. 17's seem to be everywhere and are often so abundant that local shop will discount the hell out of them at model end. Yes folks, premeditated mods. Mechanics in the 1st degree.

The wheels were actually purchased from ebay user gottabuynsell.

He actually still has a few left and has some other sales as well. And $350 shipped is an amazing offer!
The shipment was super fast, I paid on Sunday and they were already here in Wednesday. Too bad I missed them and UPS had to redeliver yesterday tongue.gif As you can see in the pics below these ARE new indeed, the boxes were totally sealed and all of the perifs were included. If have one gripe its that not all of the center caps have the same logo, but that hardly constitutes a complaint when the wheels were 1/3 the retail cost and the logo is just a metallic plate with double sided tape.

Does anyone offer a center cap for aftermarket wheels with the RD logo? Or is there any logo that will fit these caps?

What do you think of the color? I like it! I'll get some more pics tonight after I get these mounted.
Sorry that this pics quality is CRAP. The wife's camera battery died and we had to use my phone at 6:45 so light was the suck as well.

The tires are Nexen N3000's, which I understand have mixed reviews.
About half of the sites I check prior to purchase rated them as high as the Toyo Proxes that I have on he Porsche, the other rated them on par with feces (in so many words.) But for the price was right, around $40/tire and shipping at $55 over all (about $215 in total.) I wanted 215's but they were damn near twice as much, so I settled with a 205/40/17.

I got the tires from Nate's Wheels ebay store:

I must say that the shipping was quite fast and the contact from the seller was friendly and prompt. They arrived with in 4 days of payment in immaculate condition. Brand new, sticker still intact, boxed well, not a blemish; but the true test will be tonight when they're mounted. He even provided tracking info on the original invoice. Highly recommended seller if you looking for a good deal on tires.

stock footage . Thanks google images!

Nice. Had some of the Nexens on an RD1. They were a good cheap tire but for performance I wasnt to impressed compared to others. But cant beat the price at all.

RD2 G6BA, word of advice.

17'' are gonna make your car bumpy as hell. they come with 205's for a reason, the company want to provide you with as least product as possible, want to save weight on shipping, and want to sell the biggest most expensive rim to every make while not being responsible for fitment issues. clever of them.

the rimwall ususally sticks out with them and because they don't have a 45' tirewall height 1. the edges of the rim will suffer debris chipping and 2. you hit anything with an edge you'll be on a phone ordering a new one in no time. you think it won't happen, but it will sooner or later. i reordered all 4 of mine, separately over the years even with 215's. others have too.

hopefully you're a careful driver and you have a good knowledge about these things but just a heads up.

17s dont make the car ride bumpy.... shitty tires or suspension make it ride bumpy.

i had 205/40/17 on my car for years and not a single issue with bumpy ride, chipping, etc.

if you hit a big pot hole with any size rim, your gonna be on the phone ordering new rims.
