whoa - wait, why is your car totaled?!?!

 

Lady pulled out in front of me with ~ a car length or less of room. I swerved to jump the curb, locked them up, can't remember much after that.



Drivers side front fender is gone, turn signal light vaporized, headlight housing cracked ($300 right there...) wheel knocked back in an inch, and ~ 2 inches back...



Hood creased on the side, hood support bent in to greet the battery, rear quarter crushed in...



I can't post pictures till after the insurance stuff is done, but yeah, it sucks.



She got creases and paint transfer down the side of her Tucson, 2 trashed rims, and a ticket for failure to yield/unsafe merge or something to that effect.



The kicker? I was doing the speed limit, driving cautious, and on my way to put a clutch slave in a friends 01 tib...



They haven't made a decision yet, but I'll know more once they send an adjuster over...

 

wow, fight that!! If they total it, have her insurance pay extra for your mods and extra value to the car. Try to get as much as you can out of it, so you can put it towards a Genesis!!!!



Seriously, though, I'm sorry to hear that happened. That's awful. Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

 

They haven't said it's totaled, I'm just waiting to see if they do total it.

I'm worried they'll see the mileage and the damage and I'll be stuck looking for another car.

 

Just remember: you deserve retail replacement value, not private party lowball blue book.
