my dad's lower ball joint on his Santa Fe went out and the dealership wants to charge him $360 to replace it. The part is like $80 and asked me if I could do it. I've never replaced one but I'm pretty confident I can do it. what does it all require to fix it?

part, installed, and aligned would run prolly $220ish at a Sears Auto. check them out. you'd have to give 'em a call, because that isn't a part that we don't stock. they'd have to either get it from a vendor or order it for you...

of course... you could always pull the lower arm, drop it in the trunk of your Tib, and take it to a place that could press the old ball joint out and the new one in.. little more expensive, but cheaper than what the dealer wanted to rape your dad for.
