Just a quick tip...

Firestone has a $140 lifetime warranty on their alignments. This is about twice as expensive as the single alignment. I've had it for about 4 months now and it has paid for itself. I'm going to need another alignment after I put on this axel tomorrow.

Same thing goes for the lifetime ballance, it's a little more then twice as expensive, about $80, but it's good for life.

Firestone will honor the warranty if you come in the next day saying "I changed my springs and messed my alignment up"

I just thought this good information should get to tuners. I always thought Firestone was overpriced. It's worth it though. They have some seriously good services, but you'll get raped if you don't buy the lifetime warranty.

Uhh, discount tire does free tire rotation and alignment unless I'm mistaken.

Discount does not do alignments! LOL They have lifetime balance and rotation. For Texas owners, brake check has lifetime alignment for about $105 or so. Definantly not $140 for sure though.(used to work there). They also have lifetime balance but not sure how much.

I've had it for a couple years now, my parents have it on most all our cars. It's a pretty good deal BUT: firestone doesn't always do the best alignment! I talked to another tire professional, and they said at firestone, it really depends on who you get to align them. If you have someone who knows and likes what they do, you can get a good alignment. However, there are people who don't know how to do it perfectly, or don't care about it. So my 60k mi tires are now almost bald on the outside, and cupping, due to bad alignments there. I thought there was only one way to do it right, but apparently it's possible to mess up, and firestone does on occasion.
So yes, it's a cool deal to get lifetime alignment, but be careful that they do it right.

Landshark: my prices were aproximate after tax. Also, Firestone is national. So, for us military guys who get moved around every 2 years, it's a great deal. If I planned on staying somewhere for very long, I'd probly end up getting a local align and balance.

I don't really understand how they make money on this deal. It takes an hour to do a ballance, They can't possibly make money off of someone who comes in 6 times.

also, i read somewhere that firestone has to perform free complimentary checks on 95% of their vehicles or the district manager gets peeved at the store... anyone know about that?
