Largest tire size on LC2
What is the largest size tire you can fit on an LC2 with a 205 R16" rim size. Id like a 205/55 R16 tire but would it rub with a 1.5" - 2" drop?

My calculations say:
205/40/16 = 22.4"OD
205/55/16 = 24.8"OD
215/35/18 = 23.9"OD
The 18's rubbed and only just barely missed the spring perch so I'm oing to say there's no way the 205/55/16's would work. You'll need to keep the OD below 24" max to clear the spring perch, and with the lowering I would think that anything 205 width will potentially rub over 23" OD. I think a 205/45/16 is the max that'll probably fit, but I would still stick with 205/40/16.

I had a 205/40/16 set on my 02 GSi, barely cleared the spring perches and I had to massage the fender lip to make them fit. That was with a 1.5" Vogtland drop.

damn then I must be breaking some rulescause I have 205/45 R16"s on right now and it doesnt rub ever except when I hit a hard bump. Thats why I wanted to find out what the max is. I saw a set of rims with brand new Kumhos and they wanted $200 for all for..they are 16" black 5 spoke rims and they have 205/55 R16" tires...

the reason some guy's have 16's on their car whic dont' rub and some do, it's mostly because of the offset,
offset is the distance of the wheel hub surface to your suspension, more offset mean's the distance between the inner wheel rim and the suspension are wide..making the chance's of the sticking out more, which looks cool..stick a 16x7.5 0 offset wheel in the rear and your car would like a mustang with that staggered setup
hardcore civic guy's usually put 16 or 15x8.5 wheels on their car and have minimal rubbing because the wheels have almost no offset, which means them inner wheel is really close to the suspension
be careful to not get the wrong offset wheel, don't just focus on the lug-pattern and rims size,
if a wheel that has a smaller offset than the factory wheel offset, chance's are the front wheels are gonna rub on the inner wheelwell's when you go steer full lock , cause you brought it close to the inner wheel well
my friend bought a set of pepboy's rims and had them installed, but the offset was 30 or 25, and plus the rim was 7 inches wide, if the offset was a bit more, it would've cleared the inner wheel well, but it was scrapign the front inner wheel chassis
my gs-r fat 5's have a offset of 36, is 6 inches wide and is 15inch, even though my offset is a bit smaller, my narrow wheel width allow's it to clear full lock steering easily,
since i know that 36mm offset clears my car's steering with no problemo, i'm using that info as basis to purchase my purchase 16's similiar to 36mm offset,
if i really wanted it to stick out, like a evo, i'd go for a factory stock offset of 40mm, so wheel get's pushed outside more
