Cool application for sure. Tien or JIC had some electronically adjustable coilovers back in like... 2007 I think. Obviously not on a smartphone, and it wasn't as precise as this. However the user could make a decent amount of adjustments with one of those 1/4 DIN control units without getting out of the car.



The main problem with this kind of thing is not the adjuster so much, but the damper it's attached to. The vast majority of adustable dampers have really shitty adjusters - poor linearity, lots of cross-talk between unrelated settings, lots of hysteresis in the adjusters, and general inconsistency from one damper to the next one.



So, if you could pair this tech with a decent set of bilsteins or penskes, and calibrate it with results from a damper dyno, you'd have a serious weapon on your hands. Pair it with japshit coilovers and it's just another gimmick to show off to your fellow monster-energy-clad homies.

 

A servo attached to the damper adjustment valve that's controlled by android/iOS. Can'r say I haven't pondered doing the same DIY.

Not terribly innovative, but fun to look at. Over all impression meh
